A good day on the greens for St Ives BC in Round 8 of the 2019 Pennants competition with three wins to celebrate from our four sides.
In Grade 3, St Ives put a dent in Asquith's flag hopes by notching up a fine 58-52 (9 pts to 1) win at home. With Manly only able to draw at home to Harbord the top spot is still up for grabs- Manly have a 7 point edge over Dee Why & 7 1/2 over Asquith. St Ives are 5th on the ladder (4 wins & 4 losses) with only a mathematical chance of achieving top spot. In Grade 4, our side came home from Warrawee with a victory winning 57-52 (9 pts to 1). St Ives are 4th on the ladder (4 wins & 4 losses) but Asquith secured top spot yesterday with a big win over Turramurra. In Section 1 of Grade 6, our #1 side had a must-win game at home to Belrose. Unfortunately the Bulls were too strong winning 63-58 (9 pts to 1). Belrose remain favourites to top the section with a 8 1/2 point edge over Balgowlah. St Ives are 4th on the ladder (4 wins & 4 losses) but there is surely now too much ground to make up on the leaders. In Section 2 of Grade 6, the #2 side had a big away win over Avalon 75-41 (10 pts to 0). That raised their record to 4 wins & 4 losses and is good enough for 3rd spot on the ladder. Harbord continued on their triumphant march notching their 8th straight win at Dee Why and ensuring that they will win the section.
