This year's men's pennant season is a little over a month away and the club has been approved to play 4 teams - Grade 2, 4, 6 and 7. The initial game will commence on Sat 28th April and the season will go through until Sat 14th July, with no scheduled games on the 9th and 16th June. Playoff rounds will follow but please note that, due to the late end April starting date, all games are scheduled to start at 12:30pm.
In grade 2 there is only 1 section of 5 clubs, so each team will have a couple of byes. Our Grade 4 is in Section 1, G6 in Section 3 and G7 in Section 2 and all have 6 teams in their section, thus negating the need for a bye. Exact details of the draw may be found on the zone 9 website. Overall, Zone 9, if my additions are correct, will have 68 teams competing in the delayed season's start versus a total of 78 teams for the pennant season last year. A brief summary of our neighbouring Ku-ring-gai bowling clubs when compared to last year's season shows that : Killara - no change G5 & G7: Lindfield Rollers (Lindfield & Roseville) - G4, G5 & G7 in 2017 and with their amalgamation G5, G6 & G7 this year: St Ives - G2, G3, G5, G6, & G7 in 2017 with 1 less this year G2, G4, G6 & G7: Turramurra - last year G3, G4 & G6 and following their 3rd place in their section in G3, they drop to G4, G5 & G7 this year: Warrawee - no change G5, G6 & G7: West Pymble: G4 & G6 in 2017 and after winning their G4 section last year they drop to G5 & G6. Enjoy the season. David Hagley 20 March 2018
