Bev Barton & Peter Larcombe Mixed Pairs Champions.

The last Club tournament to be played this year, the 2017 Mixed Pairs event, was played on Saturday 8th December and Bev Barton & Peter Larcombe have been crowned Champions following their decisive win over Joan Francis & Maurie Battye.

Joan Francis & Maurie Battye shot away to a great 7-0 lead but, as is the case so often, with both Bev Barton & Peter Larcombe playing excellent bowls the match soon levelled and, with their tactics of long ends, Bev and Peter raced away to a commanding lead and good win.  The final score was 29-14.

Hearty congratulations to all four players for their finals' appearance and additionally, this is the first win for both Bev & Peter in any of the Club's Mixed tournaments, so "here's to" many more!
