ANZAC Day

A perfect autumn day weather-wise for the ANZAC day commemorations at St Ives Club! Club Chairman Kevin Latham led the well-attended 11 o'clock ceremony along with the President of the Women's Bowling Club, Di McBryde. Harley Sugden did sterling work playing The Last Post and Reveille while Penny Howell was on hand to lead the singing of The Recessional and the National Anthem.

A traditional barbeque lunch followed and the afternoon saw a familiar set of activities to entertain the big, family-oriented crowd attending:-

• a mixed triples afternoon for the serious-minded bowlers
• barefoot bowling for the less serious-minded
• the usual raucous Two-up session
• an Australian/New Zealand music singalong with Penny Howell.

A successful & appropriate remembrance of the ANZAC tradition enjoyed by all.
