Congratulations to Chris Bergman, Fred Alexander and Wilson Cheng for taking out the Final of the Zone Senior Triples at Harbord BC this morning. This was an outstanding come-from-behind victory against a tough team from Harbord playing on their own rink. Chris, Fred & Wilson defeated their opponents Steve Nugent, Peter Crossingham and Graham Tetstall by a score of 26-23.

The St Ives boys will represent Zone 9 in the NSW State Championships later in the year.

In Thursday's searing heat, the ladies played round 1 of the Fours Championship for 2019.
Unfortunately the heat got the better of the ladies on one rink with Vicki Bartop's team winning on a forfeit.
The games on the other two rinks were very close. The result was not decided until the last end. Congratulations to Ros Heilman's team and to Rhonwen Martin's team for winning through.

A Pennant Trial match against Belrose will be played on Saturday 16th February. Grades 3 and 6 (I) will be at Belrose BC and Grades 4 and 6 (II) will be at St Ives. The selected sides are listed below. Please let the selectors know asap if you have any issues with availability.

Harbord BC was the venue for the Quarter & Semi-Finals matches in the Zone Senior Triples championship. St Ives was represented by two teams that had fought their way through the opening rounds played the day before at Belrose BC.

The team of Chris Bergman, Fred Alexander & Wilson Cheng had an excellent win in the morning, overcoming K. Sivaloganathan's team from Mosman convincingly 29-12. That set up an afternoon semi-final against T. Taylor's Belrose triple. Delighted to report a win for Wilson & co by a score of 21-16.

St Ives other Quarter Final team comprised Tim Walton, Steven Goddard & Peter Larcombe. They faced G. Tetstall's Harbord side and unfortunately came up short 26-10.

Great work by both teams in getting through to the second day of competition and particular congratulations to Chris, Fred & Wilson in reaching the Zone Final. That match will be played next Saturday (9 February 9:30am) at Harbord BC. Our St Ives team will be facing another Harbord side- Steve Nugent, Peter Crossingham & Graham Tetstall.

Saturday saw the opening two rounds of the Zone Triples championships with the Reserve Triples being hosted at St Ives.

St Ives was represented in two of the three events and the results were as follows:-

• In the State Triples played at Harbord BC, Mike Heath's side (Andrew Murphy & Geoff Rose) went down in the 1st Round to A. Garrick's team from Pittwater Memorial 28-21. Jim Barclay's side (Peter Shalger & Chris Carey) also went down in a very narrow 1st Round loss 24-22 to M. Davern's Asquith team.
• In the Senior Triples played at Belrose BC, Peter Larcombe's side (Tim Walton & Steven Goddard) had an impressive 37-6 1st Round victory over I. Toth's Mosman team. In the 2nd Round Peter & co triumphed again winning 23-19 over G. Hamilton's Turramurra team. Those results see Peter's team through to the Quarter Final today. Also through are Wilson Cheng's side (Chris Bergman & Fred Alexander)- after a 1st Round bye they came through against B. Spear's Mosman team 30-15. George Rosettenstein's team (Noel McKenzie & Tony Wright) was less fortunate going out to R. Hawtree's Turramurra side 24-21.
